Success

YOU NEED TO BELIEVE IN WHAT YOU ARE...
Countless times when you ask an undergraduate or graduate this question "What are you good at?", it becomes a big issue.
You'll hear responses like "I don't think I have any talent or anything, I'm just there.
Well, that is a big lie you have been sold to keep telling yourself and tonight is not the night to tell you who sold you that lie because we have to uncover who sold you the lie and how you were sold to the point that it now controls your life.
EVERYONE IS A GENIUS!!!
If you don't believe, let's take a flashback into our childhood and I'll tell you the characteristics of geniuses.
Before I do that, have you ever thought about what you would do after school or in the next 20 years?.
You actually did during childhood but now you're very confused because everything seems to be blur and not making sense.
Everything makes sense, you only believed a wrong doctrine about life and yourself. You gradually took that pill in and now it's in your blood.
You no longer see yourself as any useful to the society, you now wait for the society to take care of you.
This information I'm sharing would change your perception towards life and the way you fight for achievement, success and greatness.
WHO IS A GENIUS AND HOW DO YOU IDENTIFY ONE?.
If a genius is someone with the mental capacity or extraordinary ability to look for a solution to a problem that is not so obvious then you're one.
Have you ever solved a problem that no one could actually solve?
Have you ever found a shortcut that others couldn't find?
I mean have you found a way to relate with someone others couldn't?
Have you ever done any of these, even just once?
Yes!!! I'll boldly answer for you.
There were some traits that were in everyone of us when we were kids that no longer exists in us which is the key ingredient for being a genius.
We sold it out, but it's still deep within us except for those who were born without brains in their head.
1. You were creative: When you were a kid, no one taught you how to create a house out of sand, no one taught you how to invent a car out of rubbish and dirts.
2. You were inquisitive : Geniuses (those who have the ability to solve problems) are inquisitive.
Remember you asked your dad what a ear does in the body or where a woman gives birth from.
Remember you went to sit down to think about it.
3. You always appreciated information (curiosity): Anytime your dad tried to explain the history of his house or how animals originated, your eyes were always wide open to absorb everything.
Who among you is always excited to go to school to listen to the lecturer because of curiosity?
4. You were never scared of failing. Remember how you wanted to build that sound castle to be bigger than all of your friends own that you sat down to imagine how you would build it and you discovered it would be a big task but set out for it.
Each time you made mistakes, you were not discouraged but set out to start again.
5. You knew how to figure things out and never gave up. Remember how you broke the plate and you knew mom would be back in the next few hours so you set out to fix it with cellotape then rubber band.
You did all these when you were young, you had all these traits when you were young but now you do the opposite.
You are not creative, you are scared of failing, you are not curious, you don't know how to figure things out.
Now pay attention and this is where I'll be revealing some truths and secrets.
Anytime someone walks up to me to tell me he doesn't know what to do in life or what he's good at, I reply:
"IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT, IT'S THE CULTURE OF THE SOCIETY AND WHAT WE HAVE SET DOWN.
WHY IS IT THE FAULT OF THE SOCIETY?
Because the society has adopted a culture that it thinks would liberate and develop it but it has been the bane of the society.
That culture is called the industrial culture, the mass production culture.
Do you know why I'm going through all the pain to emphasize on this?
I know what has affected us and we would not see a reason to change if we don't know what affected us.
You will not see any reason to want to become great if yourself, you don't believe you are great.
This is not a spiritual stuff but psychology and about the lie they sold to you.
The mistake the society made was adopting the school system as the only requirement for success
Tonight is not a discussion about the school system but a discussion about the genius in you, so pay attention.
When the school system was adopted, there was an intention for introducing public education system which wasn't for learning.
The society forgot or refused to accept that we are humans with diverse interests, qualities and nature. The society actually didn't forget but intentionally put us all in one class to be taught the same thing not considering our diverse natures, level of assimilation, love for mathematics, English, physics, literature etc
Those who are naturally not good at mathematics appear to be dummies in a mathematics class, those who are not good with literature appear to be dummies in a literature class.
A SYSTEM WAS CREATED THAT KILLED OUR GENIUSES
Albert Einstein said "If you tell a monkey, a fish and an elephant to climb a tree as a test, the other animals but the monkey would appear stupid and feel they are good at nothing."
I will tell you two stories to show that we are actually born different and that no twins born have the same characteristics.
Gillian Lynne , when she was 8 years old her school work was already at risk. She submitted assignments late and didn't do well in them, she performed poorly in handwriting, and she didn't do well in exams.
The school authority had to call for her mom to inform her that Gillian was suffering from a disorder because one minute she is seen fidgeting, another minute she is staring at the window, another one she is making noises in class.
They said she suffered from a disorder called ADHD and that her mom should take her to the school of special children (like school of the deformed).
Her mom actually took her to a psychologist to discuss the matter with him and the psychologists paying attention to Gillian and the fact that she was not always comfortable sitting in one spot but moving and shaking things whispered something to her mom.
Then he told Gillian that her mom and himself want to go out to discuss something and they would be back soon.
As they were leaving the office, the psychologists played a song on his radio and then left with her mom but we're peeping.
Immediately they left, they discovered that this young girl got up from her seat and began to dance to the song so perfect.
The psychologists told her mom that "Gillian is not suffering from any disease, Gillian is a dancer, take Gillian to a dance school"
Gillian is one of the world's greatest dancers whose dreams was not academics.
She would have felt that she was born without a talent
Gillian explained what happened then.* *She said her mother did exactly what the psychiatrist suggested.
“I can’t tell you how wonderful it was,” she said
“I walked into this room, and it was full of people like me. People who couldn’t sit still. People who had to move to think.”
She started going to the dance school every week, and she practiced at home every day.
Eventually, she auditioned for the Royal Ballet School in London, and they accepted her. She went on to join the Royal,Ballet Company itself, becoming a soloist and performing all over the world. When that part of her career ended, she formed her own musical theater.
Company and produced a series of highly successful
shows in London and New York. Eventually, she met
Andrew Lloyd Webber and created with him some of
the most successful musical theater productions in
history, including Cats and The Phantom of the
Opera.
She would have felt that she was born without a talent.
So the lesson I want you to carry home tonight is that you are a genius (one who has a talent) and that the school system is not the perfect litmus test for intelligence.
So quit deluding yourself that you cannot do anything in life, except you didn't do all those things I listed from no 1-5.
Everyone here has a talent, has something unique to offer to the society
The problem is that something killed your dreams along the line.
